About Kouprey Plumbing

Built on resilience, heritage, and a commitment to do right by every customer.

The Man Behind the Work

Hi, I'm Danny — Licensed Master Plumber

I'm the owner and the plumber who shows up to every job. No subbing out, no sending someone less qualified. When you call Kouprey Plumbing, you get me — a licensed Pennsylvania Master Plumber with over a decade of hands-on experience.

I'm a proud graduate of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, where I earned my Associate's Degree in Plumbing in 2007. That's where I learned to do things the right way — not just the fast way. From blueprints and building codes to mastering every pipe material from PEX and copper to cast iron, I built a foundation I rely on every single day.

I started Kouprey Plumbing to prove something. Not to anyone in particular — just to myself and to my family. My parents came to America as refugees with nothing. They survived things most people can't imagine, and they built a life here through sheer grit. That's the standard I hold myself to on every job, every day.

My customers are mostly homeowners who've been burned before — overcharged, ghosted, or left with a bigger mess than they started with. I built this business to be the opposite of that. You'll get a clear, honest estimate. I'll wear shoe covers. I'll clean up after myself. I'll explain what I found and what I did. And my work comes with a minimum one-year warranty — because I stand behind it.

Seventy-five percent of my customers come back — not because they have a problem, but because they trust the work. That's the only number I care about.

Our Heritage

From the Killing Fields to the American Dream

Between 1975 and 1979, the Khmer Rouge regime — led by Pol Pot — carried out one of the most devastating genocides in modern history. In just four years, an estimated 1.5 to 2 million Cambodians were killed — nearly a quarter of the entire population. The regime emptied cities, forced people into labor camps, executed intellectuals, professionals, and anyone perceived as a threat. Families were torn apart. An entire generation was nearly erased.

My grandparents and my parents lived through that horror. They survived the killing fields, the starvation, and the unimaginable loss. When the regime finally fell, they made the courageous decision to flee Cambodia and start over — with nothing — in America. They came here as refugees, carrying only their lives and the hope that their children and grandchildren would have a chance at something better.

I was born here in America, but I carry their story with me every day. Their sacrifice is the reason I'm here. Their resilience is the reason I work the way I do — with gratitude, with grit, and with a deep respect for the opportunity this country gave my family.

Why "Kouprey"? The kouprey is a rare wild forest ox native to Cambodia — strong, resilient, and built to endure. It's one of the rarest large animals on Earth, and it's a symbol of Cambodia's spirit. I chose the name because it represents my family's story: survival against the odds, quiet strength, and the determination to keep going no matter what.

The Cambodian Genocide (1975–1979): Under the Khmer Rouge, Cambodia's population was subjected to forced labor, mass executions, and engineered famine. Schools, hospitals, and temples were destroyed. Currency was abolished. The regime targeted ethnic minorities, religious groups, and educated citizens. The genocide ended when Vietnamese forces liberated Phnom Penh in January 1979, but the scars remain. Hundreds of thousands of survivors, like Danny's family, fled as refugees to the United States, France, Australia, and other nations — rebuilding their lives from nothing.

Heritage That Shapes How We Work

In Cambodian culture, respect is everything — respect for elders, respect for your word, and respect for the people you serve. That's not just a value I talk about. It's how I run every job.

Cambodia also has a proud history of advanced engineering and city-building. The temples of Angkor Wat — built nearly a thousand years ago — are among the most sophisticated structures ever created. My people have always been builders. That legacy lives in me.

When you hire Kouprey Plumbing, you're not just getting a repair. You're getting someone who treats you the way I'd want my own family treated — with honesty, respect, and craftsmanship that lasts.

"Their sacrifice is the reason I'm here. Their resilience is the reason I work the way I do."
